Military Naidu (Venkatesh) fights with his parents and brings his sister’s son Karthik (Chay Akkineni) after her death. He becomes everything for Karthik takes care of him from childhood onwards.

The director etches the bond between Mama and Alludu quite well in the first half but does not create a solid conflict point for their break up which looks a bit odd in the film.

On the whole, Venky Mama is a typical film drama which has a great premise and good star cast. The first half is impressive as both Chay and Venky create good entertainment. But things fall flat in the second half and disappoint a bit.

How often have we seen a 'family drama' with an emotional attachment, a flimsy love story and a few evil guys thrown into a mix just so the hero can flex his muscles? Director KS Ravindra aka Bobby's latest potboiler, Venky Mama follows a similar pattern.

In most Tollywood family dramas, filmmakers tend to harp on about the emotional equation between a father and son. In this film, it's the mama-alludu combo that comes to the fore.

The greatest problem with Venky Mama is its writing. Unimaginative and mediocre — it fails to go beyond a tried and tested formula. The mama-alludu relationship is played up, they give their relationship and astrology twist to make it seem like they're in danger.

Victory Venkatesh's outstanding performance added more strength for the movie. Especially his comedy timing never fails to impress the audience, and Venky will grab the attention with his performance in the emotional scenes also in this movie.

Director KS Ravindra has prepared an interesting plotline for the movie. Despite having two heroes the director succeed in focusing on both of them equally and induced the story with all the commercial elements and blended them very well.

Victory Venkatesh is the major highlight of the film. The scenes with Venky and Naga Chaitanya came out really well and will be nice to watch for the fans. The relationship between them is wonderful.

Rama Narayana (Nasser), a strong believer in astrology, warns his daughter not to marry her lover as they would be killed within a year of their marriage as per their horoscope.

Showing his great form, Venkatesh has maintained the same live-wire antics. His comedy has worked well and his sentiment sequences are good.

Before entering the theatres, audiences would be prepared to see that the film would mainly focus on the bonding and chemistry of Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya, the real-life mama-alludu.

Venkatesh gets a tailor-made role that not only suits his on-screen image but also his age. The veteran is as energetic and entertaining as always. He shoulders the film with his performance and screen presence while Naga Chaitanya is mostly restricted to do the supporting act.

Bobby picks up yet another regular commercial plot that heavily relies upon the combination craze.

Venky Mama is a typical rural drama that offers nothing new except for bringing Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya together on screen. Director Bobby banked on the real life relationship of both actors and their on screen image to drive home this routine family drama laced with commercial elements that cater to the masses.

Venky Mama is a typical rural backdrop story topped with venky’s unique mannerisms. First half has no high moments but offers adequate time pass with some humor here and there. Bonding scenes between Venky Mama and Karthik are good.

Venkatesh carries this film on his shoulders as much as he could. The character suits his age, his vintage histrionics are put to good use. Naga Chaitanya has done decent work, but his character is not well contemplated in the script.

Venky Mama’s first half is watchable , second half goes haywire with over the top army episodes and old school sentiments.

Karthik (Naga Chaitanya) and venky (Venkatesh) share a great bond, as karthik was raised by venky after his parents passed away, and karthik returns to the village from the army.

Venkatesh delivers a composed act as he gives a performance that's a mix of loud humor as well as controlled emotions and excels while naga chaitanya is seen giving an underplay except for action episodes.

After back to back failures of Sardar gabbar singh and jai Lava Kusa, this time around director KS ravindra aka Bobby has joined hands with real-life mama - Alludu venkatesh and naga chaitanya for venky Mama.
