The setup of the film is so natural that you get a feel that things are happening right in front of you.

Debutante actress, Ananya is a superb find as he is top notch as Priyadarshi’s wife. She suits the role well and things become very interesting once she enters the scene.

The film takes way too much time to get into the actual point. Many scenes were wasted in showcasing Mallesham’s childhood which was not that necessary.

On the whole, Mallesham is a biopic which has simple and realistic emotions. It is a fitting tribute to the legend Mallesham who put Telangana on to the India map.

Every actor in the film was brilliant without exception, and this is something fantastic to achieve. The director of acting did his job well in bringing out some best performances.

The director is half successful when he picked the right cast for the movie. The way the director executed the film in entire Telangana slang is amazing.

While watching the movie, one will certainly not feel that they are actually watching the film. The way the film was made gives us the impression that we are a part of someone's life being depicted on the screen.

It’s not an easy task to recreate a person’s life or tell the story in a novel manner – especially when the story of someone like Mallesham is known to all, thanks to the TEDx talk he delivered.

Kicking off in the ‘80s, the film unrolls the realities of handloom weavers of the era, slowly plunging into Mallesham’s childhood when he promises his mother Laxmi (Jhansi) a brighter future than the one they live in.

Balu Sandilyasa’s camerawork helps bring out the nostalgia factor and set the story, while Mark K Robin’s music is effective.

Priyadarshi switched from his usual comedic parts and sometimes supporting roles to a full-fledged lead. It is a unique and special film, and hence, his choice and selection is an inspiring choice.

Raj R has picked up an inspirational tale for his debut as a director. While the subject itself offers a lot of depth, narratively it is a simple tale of an underdog emerging winner against all the odds

Barring a couple of original compositions by Mark K Robin, the music of Mallesham is filled with local folk numbers used sparingly. Both the original and folk parts are neatly woven into the narrative.

He who liberates others from physical pain or financial distress is worthy of the highest praise.  Chintakindi Mallesham has done both.  He is a rare hero, a prodigy whose stellar creation gets a heart-touching, substantial biopic.

Priyadarshi delivers an award-winning performance.  There are no two ways about it.  This is his best output as yet.  He is massively convincing and a total surprise.  Ananya is cute, restrained and innocence embodied.

Mallesham' is a must-watch biopic that serves up a motivational lesson without sounding preachy.  It's heart-breaking, it's ennobling, it's lovely.

Mallesham is the movie that tells us the ‘real’ life journey of Chinthakindi Mallesham, an ordinary man who overcame all the odds and received Padma Shri award for his amazing contribution to the life of weavers. The film, in simple words, is the biopic of Chinthakindi Mallesham and Priyadarshi played the title role in the movie.

Priyadarshi is at his career best and he has delivered the finest performance till date. There is a lot of honesty in the way he put his performance forward.

Mallesham is one of finest Telugu films that the audiences get to watch in recent times. There are a lot of interesting elements in the movie. The movie makes the audiences laugh, make them cry and also, more importantly, makes us think about it too many times.

Extraordinary Tale, Ordinary Execution!

Mallesham (Priyadarshi) belongs to a weavers family that couldn't afford education for him. He takes up weaving as livelihood, but learns that his mother is having chronic shoulder pain because of doing the weaving work.

Raj R has a terrific story on hand to tell. He has totally banked upon it without adding any gloss or cinematic masala. He made sure to tap into the culture of rural Telangana.

Second half turns monotonous and largely one-dimensional. The director failed to tap into the research that Mallesham had done to make the machine. There isn't much information about how he gains knowledge on inventing something given his limitations. Second half fully focuses on how Mallesham has led his life by doing petty jobs before reaching his goal.
