Chaitanya alias Bobby ( Vijay Deverakonda) is an aggressive student leader with communist ideology at Kakinada university. His radical approach towards society’s problems often bring him troubles.

First half opens with introductory scenes to encash Vijay’s image. When actual story takes off as flashback , Hero Chaitanya ( Vijay D ) has been shown as a grandson of a communist leader ‘Comrade Suryam‘. Living up to the legacy , Chaitanya is a communist student leader in the university.

Vijay Deverakonda stands out yet again with his performance as Bobby .There are few scenes designed only to bank on his image, he excelled.

Dear Comrade is genuinely a film where both the lead actors have similar footage. In fact, it can be said that the female has a little bit bigger role in the narrative, which in this case is Rashmika Mandanna.

Having said that, there is nothing bad either, to criticise or pull him down. It is a regular act, and Vijay Deverakonda goes about it clinically without any complaints.

The reasons are simple, and if one has seen Bharat Kamma’s short films, they would have identified the problem there itself. The writing is plain-Jane, and scenes itself lack the bite despite the visible sincerity.

Chaitanya aka Bobby (Vijay Deverakonda) is a short tempered student leader at Kakinada university. His anger management issues always bring him into troubles. Aparna Devi aka Lilly (Rashmika Mandanna) is a state level cricketer and Bobby's relative who comes back to town.

Vijay Devarakonda is definitely the show stealer of this film. The actor has delivered an energetic and outstanding performance in this movie.

Director Bharat Kamma has prepared an engaging story for this film. The way he has narrated this script is excellent.

Dear Comrade's greatest plus is that it never becomes one-dimensional. There are moments when you feel like you can predict what happens next from a mile away, but what follows next takes you by surprise.

When Bobby (Vijay Deverakonda) meets Lilly (Rashmika Mandanna) for the first time, he's a brash, hot-headed student union leader.

Although slow and sluggish at times with a slightly below-par climax, Dear Comrade is a good attempt. It's a film that makes you think, keeps you guessing and plays with your emotions.

“Dear Comrade” has been making buzz for a long time. The film’s songs have become quite popular and all the promotional activity done by Vijay Deverakonda has paid up well in creating hype around it.

Chaitanya aka Bobby (Vijay Deverakonda) is a student leader in a university in Kakinada. He is a reckless and impulsive guy.

The film has a different and youthful soundtrack. Justin Prabhakaran’s songs have already become popular on Youtube and they are equally placed well in the movie.

First half opens with introductory scenes to encash Vijay’s image. When actual story takes off as flashback , Hero Chaitanya ( Vijay D ) has been shown as a grandson of a communist leader ‘Comrade Suryam‘.

In Second half , backdrop shifts to Kashmir for a while, then completely to Hyderabad. ‘ Oh Kala laa .. ‘ song is superb.

Bharat Kamma’s Dear Comrade is not your regular boy-meets-girl and they fall in love kind of love story.

Bobby plays a student leader and he wears his machismo on his sleeves. Thanks to his hot-headed nature, he keeps finding himself in violent situations and has issues managing his anger.

The film does have traces of Arjun Reddy, especially when we see Bobby seething with rage. However, as characters, both Arjun Reddy and Bobby are very different because they come from different economic backgrounds, have different ideologies and approach life differently.

Director Bharat Kamma shows efficiency in mingling the songs (Justin Prabhakaran's music is lilting, soulful) with the proceedings.  He doesn't make it a sports-based drama (which makes sense, with the audience having watched a 'Jersey' only recently).

With Bobby and Lilly going too light on emotions (Rashmika pulling VD's legs in the second half is silly to the core), the background music seems to happen in a separate world.

'Dear Comrade' is heart-felt and intense when it comes to the songs, some of the conversations, the climax, and the message.

Technicians has given their best for 'Dear Comrade'. Especially, Music composed by Justin Prabhakaran is outstanding. Each & every Song in the album is so special. Even the picturization of the songs is refreshing.

'Dear Comrade' doesn't have a great story but what makes it unique is the characterisations of Hero-Heroine and casting Vijay-Rashmika in the beautifully designed Love Story.

The problem is with the Second Half. Except for the Road Trip, Director failed to handle rest of the scenes properly. While the viewers expected a highly emotional ending, The Climax is nowhere close to the expectation and that's a big disappointment.
