U Turn

Samantha shines right from the word go in what-could-be the most challenging role in her career. 

The initial stages of the movie have been slightly dragged and so are the post-interval episodes. However, realistic performances from the lead cast overpower these flaws.

The production values for this mid-range movies are sleek. Every frame looks authentic and the production design deserves a special mention here.

 Mystery thrillers often rely on its unpredictability to keep the viewers at the edge of their seats. 

Unfortunately, the second half lacks the bite of the film’s initial portions and a promising thriller turns into a bit of a drab. 

By the end of watching U Turn, the only words on the audiences’ minds would be ‘divider’, ‘U Turn’ and ‘flyover’.

Samantha was terrific as the journalist. She has already done a similar part in Mahanati as well.

Pawan Kumar is directing the movie for the second time. He has already made the same film in Kannada.

Overall, U Turn is an easy one time watch in cinemas for the thrill it has to offer. Pawan Kumar could be a big name in future if he maintains the same directorial abilities and gets a fresh subject. 

 

A young reporter Rachana (Samantha) becomes the prime suspect in a case related to a series of deaths. 

Samantha has pulled off the role of a young reporter with ease. Unlike her role in recent ‘Mahanati’, this journalist role is more real and contemporary.

“U Turn” is remake of a Kannada movie of the same name and the original director Pawan Kumar has made it in Telugu as well. 

Samantha Akkineni is superb in the role of investigative journalist Rachana. She did a great job and she is going great with her work after the marriage. 

The Karma theme composed by Anirudh Ravichander for the promotions of this movie is superb and already is a trending chartbuster.

 This movie is a mystery narrated in an investigative way around an U-turn. The point itself is exciting and new from the rest of thrillers.

కథాకథనాలే బలంగా సాగే ‘యూ టర్న్’లో సమంత తన ప్రత్యేకతను చాటుకుంది. ఆమె స్టార్ పవర్ సినిమాకు ప్లస్ అయింది.

Samantha's makeover as a simple but independent girl is perfect. She got into the skin of the character and made us believe that she is an ordinary girl who is caught in an extra ordinary situation.

Pawan Kumar remained faithful to the original in spite of getting better star cast and bigger budget for the remake.
