Chitramala

5/10

Sumanth, with the success of Malli Rava, is confident about all his upcoming movies. With this film, he has set up an interesting premise by portraying the character of an atheist very well. His performance is strong and he did well in the emotional scenes. The heroine Eesha Rebba performed her character well in the film as a village girl. She is beautiful in the movie and performed well in whatever scenes she acted in. Senior actor Suresh played a key role in the film and impressed everyone.

The director himself is a writer for the movie. The story has nothing great as it appears completely routine in the movie. There are a lot of routine scenes and the concept that the director has chosen was conveyed in a conventional manner because of which the audiences will feel bored. The screenplay is flat and hardly gains any momentum. The music of the movie is a failure as no song in the film has impressed the listeners.

Subrahmanyapuram is a mediocre attempt which could have been much better.

As per the story, the entire movie revolves around Sumanth character and the actor has delivered his best performance as an atheist.

The production values of Beeram Sudhakar Reddy are lavish. The music by Shekar Chandra is awesome.

More than anything, the story of the film will take the bigger piece of the cake. The director has penned an intriguing story for the film which keeps the audience guessing.

The intriguing storyline is the main highlight of Subramanyapuram. Especially, certain events in the second half engage the audience till the end.

The major drawback of Subrahmanyapuram is that the film gives a dejavu feeling of Nikhil’s 2014 hit supernatural thriller, Karthikeya.

On the whole, Subrahmanyapuram is a passable mystery thriller which has some decent thrills. However, the audience has to patiently wait until the pre-interval sequence to experience the actual drama.

Subramanyapuram begins well in a familiar fashion, and the director is successful in establishing all the primary characters and central problem. The first few murders with the eerie background help in generating a few tense moments.

Eesha Rebba had a decent role that could have been better utilized. She was alright, but frankly, there was nothing worth mentioning as the character was underdeveloped.

Sekhar Chandra has done an excellent job with the background score but didn’t deliver on the audio front.

Subrahmanyapuram first half is alright. The suspense factor is maintained but everything else i.e writing and love track so far is very average.

Sumanth is fine, in sipte of having no strong emotional scenes to showcase his acting skills. Eesha Rebba as village girl got a half-baked role with no importance.

Subrahmanyapuram completely targeted at the rural audience, second half may partially connects to the desired audiences.

Movie takes off with Rana Daggubati’s voice over on how the village subramanyapuram is formed centuries ago. After the introduction, present day story has been unleashed.

Sumanth is fine as Karthik , however no strong emotional scenes to showcase his acting. Eesha Rebba as village girl got a half-baked role with no significance.

Subramanyapuram design and execution is aimed at the rural audience, second half may partially appeal to the targeted audience.
