Dubsmash of Family Dramas

"Shatamanam Bhavati" is mix of many super hit family entertainers. The writer and director Satish Vegesna has taken scenes from movies like "Seetharamayya Gari Manavaralu", "A Aa", "Govindudu Andarivadele", "Mr Perfect", "Brundavanam", "Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu", etc. Regarding the romantic track between Sharwanand and Anupama, it is exact copy of recent hit "A...Aa". But the chemistry between Sharwanand and Anupama is good. All in all, "Shatamanam Bhavati" is as typical family drama with predictable scenes and routine narration.

Home calling for NRIs

First half of the film is pleasant as it establishes characters and conflict. Second half is slow as it takes a lot of time to resolve to the conflict. Plus points are the village environment, family subject and cast. On the flipside, it becomes preachy and predictable towards latter part of second half. It’s sad to see NRIs are typecast as people who neglect their parents/roots. Despite of slugging pace in second half, Shatamanam Bhavati has elements and intent that attract family crowds this festival season.

Nothing New but Worth Watching!

'Shatamanam Bhavati' offers what Telugus expect during a festival like Sankranti. This film is all about human emotions and the importance of joint families. Love Story & Humour dominate the First Half. A nice Twist in the Interval gives a feeling of watching a good movie. But, Second Half hasn't been dealt properly. Few unnecessary scenes, too much melodrama and lag in the narration bring discomfort to the audience. The film is back on track only in Climax. Prakash Raj creates a lasting impression with his performance here. Overall, 'Shatamanam Bhavati' is a clean family entertainer which could make a decent watch.

Simple and Sweet

On the whole, Shatamanam Bhavati is a clean family entertainer which showcases the various emotions that parents go through when their loved ones stay away from them. Strong family bonding, lively atmosphere, and natural performances are basic assets. If you ignore the routine and outdated story line, this film has some very decent moments which you can enjoy with your entire family this festive season.

Routine meal for Sankranthi audience

Shatamanam Bhavati reminds us of many films like Seetaramayyagari Manavaralu and Govindudu Andarivadele, which is its biggest weakness. Family audience will help the film to get decent openings during the festive weekend, but it may not go very far because of the script's shortcomings. You may try it if you are a sucker for family dramas. For others Shatamanam Bhavati has very little to offer both on the script and entertainment front.

Perfect Family Drama For Sankranthi

Shatamanam Bhavati is the third movie in Sankranti race which has good expectations to reach. This movie is filled with some nice moments among family members and has some values for people to learn from it. It sometimes turns preachy and comedy scenes seem injected forcefully. Screenplay is written well throughout the movie but it is predictable most of the time. There are so many routine scenes in the second half which we have seen in many family dramas. Director Satish Vegesna has done fine job in handling a known story engaging and portrayed well on screen. He has done a commendable job with emotions and his take on NRI families and their relationship with Indian parents is good. They way he casted actors for the roles is the biggest advantage for this movie. To sum up, Shatamanam Bhavati is perfect family drama for this Sankranthi and audience will have tough time choosing between three good movies.

Dose of déjà vu

Shatamanam Bhavathi isn’t a masterpiece nor does it offer much to take home, but during this festive season, if one is in the mood for a simple, light-hearted film, this wouldn’t be a bad choice.
