'Maharshi' is one of the most-anticipated film of 2019 as it is 25th movie in Mahesh Babu’s career. The big-budgeted movie is here.

Rishi (Mahesh Babu) is a successful CEO of a company named Origin in New York. Some of his old friends gather together when he assumes charge and he goes down the memory lane, recalling his college days, his friends Pooja (Pooja Hegde) and Ravi (Allari Naresh).

The film has lavish production values and rich cinematography. K U Mohanan shot both USA locations and college episodes in bright colors giving richness to the movie.

Like Mahesh Babu gave us lecture in “Srimanthudu” and “Bharat Ane Nenu” on two different subjects, here too he talks at length (again a big press meet sequence much like in “Bharat Ane Nenu”) about farmers. This in turn has turned into a predictable fare.

All in all, “Maharshi” has its moments and is shot in a glossy way, presents some good instants but the journey is riddled with many bumps.

Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi is undoubtedly one of the biggest releases in recent times. The film directed by Vamsi Paidipally has hit the screens amidst massive expectations.

Rishi(Mahesh Babu)is a reputed CEO of a multinational company in the US. In his urge to become the best in the world, Rishi forgets his past and several relationships. One fine day, he comes to know that Ravi Kumar(Allari Naresh) a very close friend of his is behind all his success.

Pooja Hegde looks glamorous and is a perfect fit in the role. She does well in the company of Mahesh and their college episodes have come out well.

One of the biggest drawbacks is that the film is a bit slow. The second half gets emotional but is highly predictable. There is nothing new that is showcased here in the film during this time.

The love story featuring the lead pair is not at all interesting. Allari Naresh who is the mainstay is sidelined a bit in the second half.

The most awaited Telugu movie of the year so far Maharshi is out in theaters now.Did it live up to expectations?

Rishi (Mahesh) is an ambitious guy who want to be super successful in his life. He becomes CEO of an international company. But he later knows that there is his friend Ravi's (Naresh) sacrifice behind his success.

Pooja Hegde has a very little role to play. Allari Naresh is good as a loyal friend. We cannot imagine anyone else in his character. Jagapathi Babu appears as a corporate bad guy and he is alright. Prakash Raj and Jayasudha are good as Rishi's parents.

Vamshi Paidipalli has a solid script on hands. But he tried to make it a commercially viable one which has diluted it to an extent.

Superstar Mahesh Babu is one of the top stars of Telugu films and he selects stories of his likings and with a thought to make a difference and he faced his failures and evolved with the blockbusters. He is now releasing his landmark 25th film “Maharshi”, which is directed by Vamshi Paidipally of Brindaavanam fame and is produced by Dil Raju, Aswani Dutt and PVP.

Maharshi is the story of a guy through which the issues that prevail in the society and the system of functioning are discussed. When looked at the level of a concept, it has some intense feel to make a great story of a heroic guy. But in the case of Maharshi, it’s not the case as the movie begins with a superb and pumped up mode but becomes flat after some thirty minutes into the movie except for some few comedy sequences in college episode and emotional sequences that come up in the story and gets boosted in the emotional pre-climax.
