Jersey is a film which has some of the best performances in recent times. Every character in the film is so well enacted that you get carried away with all the emotions throughout the film.

The length of the film is a tad long and there is a chance for the film to be trimmed for atleast 8 to 10 minutes.

On the whole, Jersey is a realistic sports drama which moves you emotionally. Nani once again proves what an actor he is and single handedly takes the film to greater heights.

Natural star Nani’s Jersey is touted as an emotional sports drama based on cricket. He is playing a middle aged cricketer in this film which also features Shraddha Srinath in heroine role.

The plot points revealed in the trailer may give audience an impression like another sports flick with ‘underdog wins against all odds’ theme. But, this film is much beyond that, and not a regular sports flick.

Nani plays middle aged cricketer role so effortless that we cannot imagine anyone else from Tollywood for this role. He betters all his previous films’ performance by miles in JERSEY.

To call Jersey just the story of an ex-cricketer Arjun (Nani) who fights conventions to get selected in the Indian cricket team is a grave injustice to the film, even if that’s how it sums itself up.

Despite the multiple threads and three different time frames that connect to Arjun, Gowtam Tinnanuri does a stupendous job of not tangling them all up into a mess. Arjun is an ex-Ranji player, the best right hand batsman of his time and a cocky man who’s unfortunately soon grounded by reality.

While Gowtam Tinnanuri really takes the cake in this one, with his stupendous screenplay and narration, Sanu Varghese’s cinematography and Anirudh Ravichander’s music do their bit to simply pour life into the film.

Nani is in terrific form in the film. It is his movie out and out. The acting is mostly emotional and less on the funny side that is mainly exploited by the director. It comes across as a welcome change and for sure is a big reason why the whole experience of watching the actor on screen feels different or new.

The climax is neatly done but is sure to evoke a mixed reaction. There will be a segment which will take the twist in stride, but another section would find it shoehorned to create an artificial empathy.

Shraddha Srinath is presented beautifully in the movie. While she has a routine housewife role, it is sure to register among the audience. Sathyaraj is ever reliable as usual with his supporting part.

Nani, without a doubt, has given his best performance. Matured acting this is. The internal turmoil of a failed cricketer, the helplessness of a penniless father, and the struggle with all the problems

Shraddha Srinath as his wife has also given competent performance. Hers is not a glamorous role. She has pulled it off well.

Very rarely we get to see movies based on cricket in Tollywood. “Jersey” is totally different in terms of plot, genre and narration. This is not a regular Tollywood movie.

Nani has delivered a commendable performance and can be considered as one of the major highlights. His outstanding performance added more strength to the film. His finest performance is one of the major factors that will keep the audience stick to their chairs.

His performance in the emotional scenes will melt the hearts. Shraddha Srinath delivered a beautiful performance. Not only as a teenager, but Shraddha Srinath has also delivered her best performance in the wife character as well.

The movie starts off an interesting note and the first half is filled with some light emotional and movements and character introductions. The interval bang is awesome. The emotional content in the second half will be increased.

Nani is a terrific actor who always gets into the skin of the character. With Jersey he gets an author backed role that is a dream for any actor. Nani just lives in the character of Arjun that we believe that he is truly a struggling middle class man and a failed cricketer.

Director Gautham Tinnanuri needs to be commended for making an authentic sports film. He never deviated from the plot for the sake of commercial aspects.

Jersey is an emotional drama that only works when it connects to the viewer. One cannot go through the sea of emotions that Arjun is going through unless he could feel it.

Arjun (Nani) is a promising cricketer who aspires to play for the country but his dream get ruined due to some unavoidable circumstances.

Nani delivered his career-best performance in 'Jersey'. By breathing life into the character, This Brilliant Performer makes you connect with what he is going through from start to finish.

Outcome will be at a different level if Music Director and Cinematographer understand the depth of the emotions in a story. That's what happened with 'Jersey'! Contributions from Anirudh Ravichander and Sanu Varghese are marvellous to say the least.

Arjun (Nani) is a highly talented cricket batsman who plays for Hyderabad Ranji team in 1980’s. He quits cricket after getting frustrated of not being selected to Indian team.

Director Gowtham Tinnanuri who proved himself with his first content based film Malli Raava comes up with a solid story for Jersey. The film is about sacrifice and bonding with the family.

Making such a content-oriented film without regular commercial elements is a risky proposition. But, director takes the risk and comes up with a very good output with the help of fine performances by actors and excellent contributions by technicians.

Nani as Arjun is fantastic. This performance is one of the best performance in his career and this would be a memorable character for him. The two shades of his character are well etched and are relatable at every level. Shraddha Srinath complemented Nani very well in every sequence they are together.

The songs for this film are composed by Anirudh Ravichander which are good to hear and addictive. He did a superb job in composing the background score too which syncs with the emotions of the film and enhances it.

Jersey is a story of a father’s gift to his child. Each and every character is introduced without any disturbance to the story flow and there is not much to deviate the story. The first half sets the premise of the movie and the journey of Arjun towards his goal which is entertaining with situational comedy here and there.
