Jai Lava Kusa

NTR who has already proved many times that he can pull off any role has done three varied roles with so much ease here. Even though this is the first time that he has done three roles in a movie, NTR has not shown any discomfort. There is not much difference in the appearances of three roles but the performance in all these three roles is faultless.

The film also gives the feel of low production values as the costumes worn by the hero and heroines, the sets that are created for this are in low quality.Music is also not that effective. Such mass movies need more entertainment and catchy music. This is where the film lacks. “Jai Lava Kusa” has nothing much to offer beyond NTR’s terrific performance as Jai. it is impossible to put NTR's incredible performance into words. His portrayal of Jai is one of the best in recent times. As Lava and Kusa there isn't much challenge to the talented actor, but Jai is a complex character with suppressed emotions and pain.Rashi Khanna has a limited role. She plays the typical Telugu cinema character that suddenly realizes her love upon the hero. Nivetha Thomas also has a limited role. She got some fine moments to exhibit her acting talent though.

Unlike many commercial films, Jai Lava Kusa has a solid story. The conflict between the brothers and the rivalry of Jai with his brothers has been established pretty well at the beginning itself. Childhood episodes are well shot with nice dose of emotions and drama.

Jai Lava Kusa clicks mainly because of NTR. The star hero just nails the film with his performance. He is super menacing as the evil Jai and showcases the subtleness as Lava and is knotty as Kusa.The climax is very interesting as the film ends on an emotional note. Ronit Roy makes a decent Tollywood debut and Sai Kumar does justice to his role. Posani is okay so were Praveen and Brahmaji.

On the whole, Jai Lava Kusa is NTR’s one-man show. The film is surely a treat for fans as they will love Jai’s negative role in particular. Even though the film has an old school storyline and slow narration in places, the way it has been showcased ends up as a good watch for fans and an average watch for the regular audience.

ఒక మంచి నటుడి చేతిలో పడితే.. ఓ మామూలు కథ కూడా మరో స్థాయికి వెళ్తుందనడానికి ‘జై లవకుశ’ రుజువుగా నిలుస్తుంది. కథాకథనాల సంగతెలా ఉన్నా.. ఎన్టీఆర్ ను హీరోగా ఎంచుకోవడంతో.. కొన్ని ప్రత్యేకమైన లక్షణాలతో జై పాత్రను డిజైన్ అతడి చేతికి అప్పగించడంతోనే బాబీ తన బాధ్యతను విజయవంతంగా పూర్తి చేసేశాడు.

సినిమాలో మిగతా నటీనటులంతా మామూలుగా కనిపిస్తారు. ఎన్టీఆర్ తర్వాత ఎక్కువ ఆకట్టుకునేది సాయికుమార్. తన అనుభవాన్ని రంగరించి.. పాత్రకు తగ్గట్లగా చాలా బాగా నటించాడు సాయికుమార్. హీరోయిన్లు రాశి ఖన్నా.. నివేదా థామస్ కమర్షియల్ సినిమాల్లో హీరోయిన్లెలా ఉంటారో అలాగే కనిపించారు. దేవిశ్రీ ప్రసాద్ సంగీతం ఓకే. రావణా.. తేలిపోయా పాటలు బావున్నాయి. సాంగ్స్ విషయంలో నిరాశ పరిచినప్పటికీ నేపథ్య సంగీతంతో ఆకట్టుకున్నాడు దేవి. జై పాత్ర ప్రవేశించిన దగ్గర్నుంచి నేపథ్య సంగీతం మరో స్థాయిలో ఉంటుంది. ఐతే సినిమా అంతా చూశాక పాటలు ఇంకా మెరుగ్గా ఉండాల్సిందని.. ఏదో మిస్సయిందని అనిపిస్తుంది.

ఐతే కథాకథనాల్లో బిగితో నడిపించడంలో బాబీ విఫలమైనప్పటికీ.. ‘జై లవకుశ’ను ఒక ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్ ప్యాకేజీ లాగా నడిపించడంతో విజయవంతమయ్యాడు. కమర్షియల్ అంశాలతో కథల్ని నడిపించగలనని బాబీ రుజువు చేసుకున్నాడు.

Jai Lava Kusa must be the most satisfying film for NTR as an actor. It gives him a lot of scope for exploit his unlimited acting skills. Plus points of the film are basic story idea and Jai character.

'JLK' is NTR's show, lock, stock, and barrel. The story line is decent. The screenplay has its share of flaws and the first half is underwhelming. The climax fight should have been much better. The emotional content (read the brotherly sentiment) could help the film sail through.
